When you do not want braces but do desire perfectly set teeth, you may opt for facings (also called veneers). These are small shields of porcelain that are bonded to your teeth. For this some of the enamel of your teeth has to be removed, because a facing should be half a millimeter thick. We can have these facings created at TandzorgLab’s in-house, so we are able to provide you in a very short period of time with beautiful looking teeth. But you can also opt for facings made out of composite. Composite is the white filling substance we use for cavities. Crooked teeth can be filled out to have them look perfectly regular, we use it to repair chipped teeth and for discolored teeth so they look perfectly white again thanks to the very thin layer of composite. Composite facings are less expensive than the porcelain ones made at TandzorgLab’s; the material is less expensive and the treatment itself is less time consuming. The right choice, composite or porcelain, depends on your specific situation and of course on your own wishes and desires. Your dentist will advice you regarding the best option in your particular situation.
